Cengage Jack Erjavec Innovative Instructor Award

Sponsored by Cengage and administered by NACAT, the annual Jack Erjavec Instructor Award is a $2,500 annual award to one instructor to attend the summer NACAT conference and other training events. The instructor selected demonstrates the most innovative and effective use of technology in the classroom.

Larry Cotten Memorial Scholarship

The Larry Cotten Memorial Scholarship is offered by the North American Council of Automotive Teachers (NACAT) Education Foundation. The $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a student training to become a collision repair technician.

Mitchell1 Educator of the Year Award

The Mitchell 1 Educator of the year award is presented at the NACAT Conference. This award is presented to the Educator that scored the highest on the ASE tests during the past year.

The winner receives registration and travel accommodations for two at the NACAT conference and a 1-year subscription to ProDemand. Selection criteria for the Mitchell 1 Educator of the Year award requires that a master automotive technician excel on all ASE automotive tests, including A1 – A8 (Engine Repair, Automatic Transmission/Transaxle, Manual Drive Train and Axles, Suspension and Steering, Brakes, Electrical/Electronic Systems, Heating and Air Conditioning, Engine Performance) and the L1 (Advanced Engine Performance Exam).

Selection is based on the top scorer on the ASE Test in the Educator category.
