Rick Martineau is currently the Director of Education with ConsuLab Educatech of Quebec City, Quebec. He is based out of Black Diamond Alberta, Canada. He is a Red Seal certified Journeyman Automotive Service Technician.
Rick started his teaching career at SAIT in 1991. He instructed in several programs in the School of Transportation at SAIT. The two-year AST diploma program, Automotive Apprentice program, Corporate Training and AC Delco instructor for western Canada. In September of 1995, SAIT initiated the GM ASEP program and Rick became the lead instructor teaching all four levels of apprentice training for twelve years. In 2007, he accepted the position of Academic Chair for the Automotive Apprentice training program at SAIT and in 2010 his position was expanded to Academic Chairperson for all the Automotive Programs. In July of 2012, Rick made a career change and joined the team at ConsuLab as an Educational Specialist. In 2016 his role changed to Director of Education.
During Rick’s employment tenure, he has served in many other related roles. Rick is very involved in Skills competitions. He is the chair for the Skills Alberta Provincial Technical Committee and Skills Canada National Technical Committee for Automobile Technology. He has been involved the organization of three World Skills competitions as well. He served as the 2002 NACAT conference host in Calgary. He was part of the 2013 NACAT organizing committee for the conference in Quebec. Rick has served on the board of NACAT from 2005-2008 and 2015 until present.
